LEGO® Robotics

Ages 7-10

$65 per student

Yes! This is what students are supposed to look like when they're learning logic, science and engineering!

LEGO® Robotics is our core class, where beginners learn to build and program  robots using LEGO® Education’s award-winning WeDo robotics and programming software.

Students follow step-by-step on-screen instructions to build their robots, and then build a suggested program to get their robots working. After that, those who are ready build more complicated programs involving motion or tilt sensors, or improvise to make their robots achieve certain tasks.

Adventures with Robots offers after-school LEGO® robotics and science classes for kids in Maryland, northern Virginia and Washington D.C.

Towards the end of the session, we encourage some of the more advanced students in this class to skip the group activity and instead take our challenge to use what they’ve learned so far to design their own programmable car that that can move without being touched. Even our biggestLEGO® robotics buffs find this extremely challenging, but we work with them to help them succeed. If they like the challenge, we suggest our follow-on LEGO® robotics class, Robo Challenge!

Tired of having no clue what your kids do in all those clubs? We’re different. A day or two after every class, your instructor will email a note explaining what the class learned in the previous session and what’s next. Sometimes we even include photos and videos!

For complete information for parents whose students are new to robotics, see our beginning robotics FAQ.
